Odile’s Coda || Quitty & Athena
A slight frown tugged on the edges of Athena’s lips as she realized who it was. “Thanks,” She replied flatly. Sitting down, She started to stretch as she realized the other girl was going to join her. Head down as she stretched her calf, she spoke again. “I wasn’t out of breath.” She tried to keep any emotion from her voice. “I wasn’t on my box properly.” Athena moved to stretch her other leg, keeping her head down. She didn’t want to see the look on the other girl’s face- one she knew was bound to be full of judgement.Unsure of whether to trust the girl, Athena merely smiled as she stood back up. “Mainly pas de deux. I used to choreograph for when I would dance with Devon in New York.” She struggled to keep her face neutral, unwilling to delve back into the past. It was over, and he wasn’t going to find her. Not here.
Well that was quite the welcome, obviously the girl wasn’t happy to see her. Grinning smugly inside, Quitty moved to pin her long dark hair into a bun as she made her way for the bar along the wall, lifting a leg out to stretch, speaking as she leaned over. Ballet had been her everything since the time she could walk, and most of the movements were second nature. “Whatever, it was off anyway.” Shrugging the tiny brunette looked over at the other girl. “Happens to the best of us.” Her tone was casual. “New York, huh? I’m from New York. Upper East Side, not that I’m sure it matters.”
Turning back to the face the girl, large grey eyes wandering over her, Quitty tilted her head. “I’ve been trying to mix it up lately, blend techniques you know? For my audition with The EBC, I used a classical piece mashed up with Wild Ones on an electric violin. It was great. I got the part because they said they were looking for something fresh. Do you know how hard it is to blend belly dancing with ballet. You wouldn’t think so, but the movements are hard to transition without using a bit of contemporary.” Stepping into the middle of the floor she stepped up onto pointe, spinning backwards into an effortless and casual pirouette, her eyes locked on the other girl’s reflection. “Have you danced anywhere other than New York? And who…” Turning to face the girl, a curious look on her face. “Is Devon? Is he cute? I bet he’s cute.”
The easiest way to get to someone was to lull them into a false sense of security, find their weaknesses and then exploit them at the perfect moment. That was why she was being so nice, interested, casual. Make her think they’re friends and then tear her down. It’d be fun, and it’d been far too long since Quitty Lancaster had had a little fun.

Nothing’s new. Life is incredibly boring when you’re not around.
Well I would hope so, I do breathe life into this place.

Just been sitting in my room, listening to my EP and actually studying for midterms.
What about you?
I was on the introductory tour for the EBC. It was like my trial run with the company. I guess I passed.

The most surprising thing about this is that you got the reviews in the mail. Unless you meant e-mail, in which case nothing about this is surprising.
Well, our director is a little behind on the times, so yes, I got them in the mail. I’m glad you’re not surprised over me being a hit.

So proud of you. Let’s celebrate this weekend! :)
Heck yes! We can go and drink our faces off!
